Thousands of volunteers needed to ensure integrity of election system

In advance of the efforts by Stein Recount—led by 2016 Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein—to request a recount of the 2016 presidential election vote in Pennsylvania, the campaign is urging concerned voters from every county in the state to volunteer to request recounts at their county board of elections, as required by Pennsylvania state law.

To conduct a comprehensive recount statewide, state law requires three concerned voters in each election district to submit an affidavit to their county board of elections requesting a recount. Voters interested in submitting an affidavit will be provided with language to do so and can sign up at http://www.jill2016.com/recountpa.

The campaign is committed to promoting a participatory recount, in which voters from all parties as well as independent voters are welcome to serve as observers and help ensure the integrity of the 2016 election.

“After a divisive and painful presidential race in which party databases, private email servers, and voter databases in certain states were hacked, Americans across the country are wondering whether our election results are reliable,” said Dr. Jill Stein. “ The vote in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan and reported anomalies need to be investigated before the 2016 presidential election is certified. It’s critical for our democracy that Americans can trust the integrity of election outcomes.”
